The Board

Amar Varma

Amar has over 12 years of experience in the technology and investment arenas. Before joining EVP, Amar was a Director at VenGrowth Capital Partners where he focused on investments in the technology sector. Prior to that, Amar worked at a number of public and private technology companies in both Canada and the US including Jetstream Communications Inc., Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, ATi Technologies Inc. and Newbridge Networks Corp. Amar has a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute sponsored by the NVCA.


Chris Sukornyk (CEO)

Prior to founding Chango, Mr. Sukornyk co-founded The X-Stream Network which became Europe’s fastest growing Free ISP. X-Stream was sold in March 2000 to LibertySurf for US $75 Million. More recently, Mr. Sukornyk co-founded Bubbleshare, a consumer focused photo sharing web application which was sold to Kaboose (TSX: KAB). In addition, Mr. Sukornyk founded Fivelimes, a green focused social-shopping site that was recently sold to Avid Life Media. Mr. Sukornyk left Kaboose in early 2008 to pursue the launch of Chango.


Duncan Hill (Executive Director, Sales & Marketing)

Duncan was the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Think Dynamics, a developer of data center provisioning and automation software, which was acquired by IBM in May 2003. Duncan recently served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Ventures West, and currently sits on the board of directors of RapidMind, and on advisory boards at Opalis, Cirba, Reasonably Smart, Embotics, ServiceMesh, and the Velocity program at the University of Waterloo.


Geoff Judge

Geoff Judge is an investor in early stage companies. He often works directly with his investments on business strategy and business development. Occasionally he works with companies on raising institutional capital. Geoff is also a member of The NY Angels. Geoff was an investor in IndustryBrains (sold to Marchex Nasdaq: MCHX), and today works actively with Collective Media, Fetchback, Oggifinogi, , Madison Logic, and Good Health Media.. He is a Venture Partner at Metamorphic Ventures, and iNovia Capital. He also sits on the board of Global Cash Access (NYSE: GCA) Mr. Judge was Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Media Division at 24/7 Real Media, and a co-founder of the company. He was formerly the President of Interactive Imaginations, one of three companies that merged to form 24/7 Media in 1997. 24/7 Media went public in August 1998 and was acquired by WPP in 2007 for $649MM. Mr. Judge spent nine years at American Express in the Card Division in several roles including VP and General Manager, Travel & Corporate Insurance Group and VP Marketing, New Cardmember Group. Mr. Judge received an M.B.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University. He is a founding board member of Children for Children and a Trustee for the Sacred Heart School in Manhattan.


John Elton

John Elton is a venture capitalist at iNovia Capital. He focuses on digital media and software investments in Canada and the US. He also heads iNovia’s US initiatives. John has spent his career as an advisor, investor or operator in the digital media sector. While at Turnstone Capital, John advised dMarc Broadcasting on its first round of institutional financing as well as an acquisition prior to its sale to Google (acquired for up to $1.2B.) Prior to this, John co-managed a venture capital fund for Gulf International Bank which invested in eMotion (acquired by Corbis), DigiMine (now Audience Sciences), and Anystream (now Grab Networks.) John also worked as a consultant for McGill University’s technology transfer unit, a partner institution of iNovia’s. In addition, John worked in strategic planning for 24/7 Media (acquired by WPP for $649 million) and as an investment banker at Veronis Suhler Stevenson a merchant banking firm focused on the media and communications industries. John currently serves or is an observer on the board of directors of Chango, Collective Media, Vizu, Standout Jobs and LegiTime Technologies. John also leads iNovia’s investment in Urgent Career. John received an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from New York University and holds a B.A. Degree in Economics from Lehigh University.


Lewis Gersh

Lewis is a digital media and venture investor veteran with over 15 years of experience. Prior to founding Metamorphic Ventures, Lewis was the founder and CEO of Worldly Information Network (WIN), a publisher of digital financial information to both the retail and institutional markets backed by TD Capital and in partnership with AOL. Lewis successfully grew WIN into a profitable company before its sale, but more importantly, he has experienced all the ups and downs that every start-up goes through. Lewis is actively involved with the portfolio companies including executive team development, fundraising, M&A, operational strategy, and board management.

Lewis graduated from San Diego State University in 1989 with a BA in English & Political Science and seven years later, received his JD and Masters in Intellectual Property Law from Pierce Law in 1996. During the interim, Lewis was an accomplished athlete, competing in Ironman triathlons, marathons and ultra-marathons worldwide while writing free lance articles on the events as well as doing computer work to pay the bills.

Lewis is a member of the bar of the State of New York as well as the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Lewis is also a trustee of the Pierce Law, an internationally recognized leader in intellectual property education.
