Chief Executive Officer
Prior to founding Chango, Chris Sukornyk founded or co-founded multiple tech startups in the digital media and online publishing industries. In 1998 he founded The X-Stream Network and it quickly became Europe’s fastest growing Free ISP. X-Stream was sold in March 2000 to LibertySurf for US $75 Million. More recently, Chris co-found Bubbleshare, an advertising backed photo sharing application which was sold to Kaboose (a Disney company). In addition, he also founded Fivelimes, a green focused social network that was recently sold to Avid Life Media. Chris is based in Toronto and is a speaker at SES, SMX, CIX, Mesh and other technology conferences.
Chief Revenue Officer
With thirteen years in the digital space, Dax has considerable experience in all things digital including campaign strategy, media planning, usability, affiliate marketing and email marketing. Prior to joining Chango, Dax founded and led the global display media group at iCrossing for four years, a role which cultivated the development of Performance Display, a data-driven method for building ROI orientated campaigns. Before iCrossing, Dax headed up the European division of Bluestreak (ad server and ESP) where he was responsible for overseeing all local operations, including managing business development and client services. Dax frequently speaks on topics including media planning, media exchanges and the synergies between search and display at various interactive marketing events including ad:tech, OMMA, SMX, SES, OMS, DAA and WOMMA. He also writes extensively on the digital space at daxthink.com.
Chief Technology Officer
Mazdak brings with him a diverse background in product and technology. Prior to joining Chango, Mazdak served as the VP of Operations at Tall Tree Games, a Top 50 Facebook game developer and the creator of YoVille (acquired by Zynga). Prior to that, he was the VP of Engineering for the iconic hotornot.com. Mazdak was also a founding member of BubbleShare (with Chango CEO Chris Sukornyk) and became the co-founder of an incubator project within Kaboose Inc. (after the BubbleShare acquisition). Mazdak is based in Toronto.
Vice President of Finance
Chad brings more than 15 years of strategy, operational excellence and financial expertise in the technology industry to the Chango team. Prior to joining Chango, he helped business ventures raise funding and evaluate business opportunities for investments by Venture Capitalists. Before that, Chad worked for Virgin Mobile Canada for more than 4 years where he served as integral resource to the Senior Executive Team, distilling business intelligence into detailed plans to improve company performance. Prior to that, Chad was at Sprint Nextel for 5 years, leading to the development of an effective operational strategy. Chad is based in Toronto.
Vice President of National Sales
Frank brings 13 years of digital advertising experience from leading digital advertising brands, such as Yahoo!, Doubleclick, Google and Broadcast.com to Chango. Prior to joining Chango, Frank was Director of East Coast Sales at Adknowledge, a provider of auction based digital ad solutions for direct response marketers. Prior to that, Frank was a key member of the Doubleclick (Google) AdExchange sales team. During his tenure as Sales Director, Frank pioneered the initial launch of AdX to top agency holding companies, marketers and ad networks, guiding Doubleclick’s most important clients through the beta and general release. Frank spent 7+ years at Yahoo in a variety of sales roles. He led emerging product sales efforts for Yahoo Search Marketing in the east and central regions. And before that was a top performing sales executive for Yahoo’s Broadcast.com, which was an early pioneer of streaming media technology. Frank is based in NYC.
Vice President of Client Services
With 15 years in the online advertising/marketing space, Makiko brings her diverse experience with a variety of industries to the Chango team. She has led email marketing, SEM, SEO, social media engagement and display media programs for companies such as The St. Regis (Starwood), Atlantis Adventures Hawaii and several Fortune 500 companies in the retail and software/technology/telecom industries. Prior to joining Chango, Makiko worked for a digital marketing agency, iCrossing, for nearly 6 years as Senior Account Director, and led account teams of 20+ for various advertising/marketing programs and projects for the agency’s top clients. Makiko is based in San Francisco.
Vice President of Marketing & Partnerships
Ben is VP of Marketing & Partnerships at Chango, where he heads up marketing and is also responsible for expanding the company’s data and media partnerships. Prior to joining Chango, Ben worked with GE Capital for four years to establish and lead the digital media practice. This led to the development of GE Capital’s digital value proposition and its execution worldwide. The new venture re-energized paid, owned and earned media across 70+ web sites. Ben graduated from GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership program after completing his MBA at McGill University. Before GE, Ben held a variety of Marketing & Business Development roles in the e-payments industry, while working at Gemalto in London. Ben writes frequently for Digiday, CMO.com and Search Engine Watch.
Vice President of Strategy
Premal brings to Chango a diverse background in Business Development and Strategy within the media technology industry. As Vice President of Strategy at Chango, Premal is responsible for leading best practices and partnership strategies across all media solutions and the Programmatic Marketing Platform (PMP). Prior to joining Chango, Premal was responsible for Business Development and Strategy efforts at Disney Interactive Media, where he worked on a number of initiatives driving new revenue and audience engagement including the launch of a deals-related product targeting moms & families, licensing of Disney IP/content, video distribution, content recommendation solutions and other page yield monetization tactics. Prior to that, Premal lead Strategic Planning efforts at Kaboose Inc, which was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2009. Premal graduated from the Schulich School of Business with a BBA in Finance and is also a CMA. Premal is based in Toronto.
Senior Director of Optimization and Data Analytics
Erik has mastered his keen analytical mind with more than 10 years experience analyzing and optimizing for small to mid sized technology startups. Prior to joining Chango, he used his business sense to make common sense out of both dollars and digits at HOTorNOT.com and Tall Tree Games, a Top 50 Facebook game developer and the creator of YoVille (acquired by Zynga). Before that, Erik worked for Embarcadero Technologies for more than 4 years as dev team lead for several data optimization and analytics projects. Erik completed his MBA at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Erik is based in Toronto.
Director of Engineering
Maziar Rezvani is Chango’s Director of Engineering, reporting to the CTO. Maziar oversees development of the real-time bidding, ad-serving, data collection and data processing systems. Maziar was one of first five employees at Chango. His passion for entrepreneurship and software development had him starting businesses ranging from hosting, to gaming websites from the age of twelve. Maziar holds a degree in Computer Science from York University in Toronto. After graduation, Maziar pursued his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot and received his Private Pilot Licence in 2008.
Director of Product
Joshua Davey is the Director of Product for Chango, reporting to the CTO. Josh oversees the development of Chango’s campaign management, reporting, and business intelligence systems. Prior to joining Chango Josh’s obsessive entrepreneurial drive has involved him in many online businesses, including hotornot.com (with Chango CTO, Mazdak Rezvani). Most recently his photo-sharing startup, Burstn, was featured in many online publications such as TechCrunch, Mashable, and GigaOM and offline publications such as Profit Magazine.
