Chango Founder and CEO Chris Sukornyk answers a few questions on Chango's latest $12M funding round:
Can you tell us more about the new funding and who are the investors?
The funding is really a testament to the hard work of the entire team at Chango and thanks to their commitment it made the job of raising funds much easier.The round was led by all of Chango's existing investors - all of whom are huge supporters of what we are doing. Investors include iNovia, Rho Canada Ventures,Metamorphic Ventures, Mantella Venture Partners and Extreme Venture Partners.
What does this mean for Chango and its clients?
I think our clients will mainly notice a difference by way of us continually investing in our core technology. We are constantly improving our technology and by bringing on more developers and data scientists we can continually improve both the effectiveness of existing solutions as well as introduce new solutions.
For Chango it means that we can expand our team and continue to invest in our technology to meet a huge market opportunity. Chango Madison, our underlying platform was designed to quickly and easily deploy new types of real-time marketing solutions. Our first solution beyond Search Retargeting is Programmatic Site Retargeting and our clients will benefit from additional solutions in the near future.
How would you best describe what Chango does?
Chango makes it easy for marketers to embrace and succeed in the new world of data-driven, real-time marketing. We solve the common problems faced by marketers today – we prospect for new customers with Search Retargeting and convert existing site visitors with Programmatic Site Retargeting.
We think of ourselves as helping to bridge the gap between what's technically possible and what's comprehensible to a non-PhD. So while we could talk for hours about our algorithms and underlying platform - we often distinguish ourselves by putting our people first and providing outstanding client support.
Is there any fun fact you can share about this latest funding round?
Because of exchange rates, $12,000,000 Canadian was actually about $12,350,000 US at the time we closed the funding!
