What’s your role at Chango?

I'm the Director of Engineering  of the Dashboard Team. The Dashboard is our tool for clients and internal team to monitor and optimize campaigns.

Why would you say Chango is different than other retargeting companies?

The thing clients care about the most are the bottom line (ROI) and great service. As it turns out we are really great at providing both. The easy answer is to say it's the people that make Chango different. But that's what makes every organization different. The question is "What type of people make Chango different than those at other companies?" and the answer to that is the type of people who are great at understanding value. When you understand what is valuable and how to create value you can save people a lot of time.

What keeps you awake at night?

Finding more ways to uncover "why". In advertising there are an infinite number of things that may or may not correlate to a spike in conversions. Providing our optimizers with as much information as possible to understand why something has happened keeps me up all night.

Why is Chango such an awesome place to work?

There are a lot of unoriginal ideas in advertising. Luckily we get to work on something completely new and fresh but even a great idea can fall apart without the right people. The team we have at Chango is world class. I've never been so happy to work anywhere because of the people I'm surrounded by.

What is your favorite question on Quora?

There's a great question on Quora about the next innovation in web interface design with lots of great perspectives and ideas.

My personal take on web and interface design is that we're about to enter a new age of usability on the web that uses the web's dynamic medium to guide people through bits of information like an interactive story versus what we see a lot of today which is bombarding the user with as much information as possible. It's not that the user isn't smart enough to make sense of it all it's just that they just don't have the time!
